Celebrating First Reconciliation (First Confession) 2022
Parent Information Session
Fr Sam welcomes the parents of children who are to make their First Reconciliation to an Information Session. It will be held in St Michael's Church on Saturday 24th July at 5pm and followed by Mass at 6pm.
This year candidates will need to be in Year 3 or above to receive their sacrament. They must be baptised in the Catholic faith and attend Mass regularly with their family. If they were not baptised at St Michael's Church in Lane Cove, a copy of their baptism certificate should be submitted at enrolment.
First Reconciliation Dates
First Reconciliation will take place at St Michael's Church on Saturday 27th August at 4.30pm.
At St Michael's Parish children who are baptised in the Catholic faith will now celebrate their first Reconciliation in Year 3 (or above). They are required to have made their first Reconciliation prior to undertaking their first Holy Communion.
Presentation Masses
Candidates will be presented to the community at Mass following their Saturday evening lesson.
Lesson Preparation
All candidates in Year 3 (or above) prepare for their first Reconciliation with 3 x 50 minute lessons led by Mrs Lolina Aljasin, our Sacramental Coordinator. Lessons will be held over three consecutive Saturdays in the Parish Hall and are followed by Mass at 6pm in the Church. Families are most welcome to attend Saturday evening Mass with the candidates.
Enrolment
Program enrolment bookings for 2022 will open in July following the parent information session. A copy of the child's baptism certificate should be sent to the Parish office at the time of enrolment.
