ALTAR SERVERS

For children in Yr 3 & above who have already made their First Holy Communion. Children are rostered on approximately once every four weeks. Please see link below to sign up.

ALTAR SOCIETY

Cleaning & laundering sacramental items in the Church.

CATECHISTS

Dedicated catechists serve our Catholic families in our public schools – Lane Cove Primary, Lane Cove West Primary, & Greenwich Primary Schools.

CHOIR

Rehearsals on Wednesday nights in the Church from 7:30pm.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY

During the 9:30am Sunday Mass in school terms. Children are escorted to the Parish Hall and split into two groups; 3 – 6 yrs & 7 and up. They celebrate the Liturgy of the Word, and return to the Church for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Please contact Victoria Coorey at Email address or Lisa Rossi in the Parish Office.

DIGITAL DESIGN

Assist with creating promotional materials for parish social events or special occasions. If you have design skills, consider sharing your expertise.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Meets once per quarter. Assists Parish Priest with all financial matters relating to the operation, maintenance and planning of the Parish.

GARDENING TEAM

Maintain the Church grounds, and landscaping of the gardens.

GREETERS

Greet people at the Church entrance before weekend Masses, and hand out the Parish bulletin.

LECTORS (READERS AT MASS)

Rosters completed every 3 months. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to participate.

MUSICIANS

Please contact the Parish Office if you can offer your services as a singer or musician.

PARISH COUNCIL

Meets monthly. The purposes of this Council cover discerning what the real needs are in the parish and the community; co-ordinating activities of parish organisations; endeavouring to involve the whole of the parish in the work of the church; being a means of fostering a sense of community; being a vehicle of communication between the laity, religious and clergy and evaluating its projects. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, the process by which adults become Catholics, has been a regular feature of parish life at St Michael’s. It reaches a climax on Holy Saturday night during the Easter Liturgy.

If you’ve never been baptised, or if you are a baptised member of another Christian denomination and would like to find out more about the Catholic faith; or if you’re a Catholic who would like to learn more about the faith, you’re welcome. SOCIAL JUSTICE GROUP

The group aims to make a difference to members of our immediate and wider community. The group focuses on refugees, homelessness, and broader social justice issues.
Volunteers from St Michael’s work with the House of Welcome to support asylum seekers, Cana Communities to support the homeless, and Baabayn Aboriginal Corporation to support indigenous communities.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL

VISITING THE SICK/HOUSEBOUND

Our Parish has pastoral responsibility for six Nursing Homes, Greenwich & Longueville Hospitals, and around 10 private residences to visit and administer Holy Communion each week. We rely on volunteers to assist with this Ministry and are always looking for caring and reliable parishioners – even if you can only spare 1 or 2 hours a week. Please contact the Parish Office if you would like to participate.

YOUNG ADULTS GROUP

Meeting the first Thursday of the month the young adult group  (ages 18-35) will study Chosen: Your Catholic Faith program, a journey through the entire Catholic faith. Commencing at 6.15pm for Dinner, 7 pm Adoration and Presentation 7.30 – 8.30pm.  Register here

WARDENS AT WEEKEND MASSES

Assist with the collections during Mass. Rosters completed every 3 months. Please contact the Parish office if you would like to participate.
